THERESA

What is the suitable punishment for a cheating partner, how far is too far? Places and certian events were changed for security purposes. Theresa exhaled slowly as she approached the dining area. She exhaled to calm her throbing heartbeats and steady her shaking hands. She got to the dining room and carefully placed the silver tray on the table. She adjusted the dishwares that didn't need adjustment on the tray, she smoothened down the table cloth where there were absolutely no bumps, all to calm her racing heart. It was beating painfully against her chest now. She heard movement, a shuffle from the room, the last room in the corridor. The big room she shared with her husband. Then she heard approaching footsteps, everything seemed so loud in her house that was eeirly quiet. Quick steps, one, two, three and he was standing by the door. She swallowed and shifted a little bit from the table.  She lowered her eyes, cringing from his gaze. In the past she would always stare at him lo

She was not very beautiful, she was just, well... Dorcas. Dorcas's father like other rich men in his time had a large household, more than four wives and well over thirty children besides nieces and nephews that lived in. LOOSING

Image
Loosing. Have you ever lost to someone or something? How did you handle it,how did you receive the news, are you one of those resilient people that know it is ok to loose? Humans are as different in handling failures as they are different in physical features. Kelvin in today's story was one of those who think loosing a dirty word. Kelvin worked in a bank, owned a nice car and lived in a Fancy house, Kelvin also had a best friend from kindergarten, they have always been friends and they were flat mates. Kelvin had everything good in life, everything always fell in the right places for him, although he had a rich father,he had his own money and this tripled his self esteem. Kelvin's best friend was a high school teacher,he was happy to have gotten that job at all when most of his course mates  were having difficulty getting jobs, his friend Kelvin, was kind enough to pay more than half the rent annually,so he had little financial concerns, although he hoped for a better

HERALD

Image
For most unfortunate or tragic events, you usually hear the person say, somehow they knew it will happen, they felt it. In some cases a week before these events the person feels far from normal, they suspect something is wrong, experience foreboding. For a few others they feel nothing at all,no herald whatsoever, they feel good and fine, life is going well, then bang!!! Something bad happens,it is as jarring and shocking as a loud noise at night. For Alexander it was the same, they had no inkling whatsoever about what would happen that weekend. Alexander was in senior high school with his twin. They were the only children of their parents who were both lawyers. These identical twins were super playful. They had little reason not to be though. They had loving parents, lived in a very happy home, were students of one of the best schools. Alexander was the most reserved of this twin, that is, although he was jovial, free spirited and hyper, he was no where close to his brother. Pranks

DEAL-BREAKER

Image
Everyone has a limit to their tolerance level. How much can one person take? or can you take any at all. What is a deal breaker for you. In some marriages the deal breaker is infidelty for others it's physical abuse. For Sylvia in today's story she had little patience for violence. Sylvia was a unique young woman. You meet her and just realize she was a rare type that don't come to earth often. As opposed to most women in her time that were timid, shy and dependant upon their men folk, Sylvia was independent. She was a charmer, undeniably. She had really long dark hair and her skin was light in complexion, something that was uncommon in her parts at that time, had intriguing eyes, mesmerizing smile but most importantly she was innately intelligent. Sylvia did so well in her academics that she had a scholarship. Before high School, suitors started coming,it was a common thing then. Sylvia didn't care much, she left the responsibility of choosing to her parents. S

CHILD BRIDE

Image
You probably have heard of child brides. It is common in these parts, more so years ago. You have heard of teenagers handed out to husbands by their father and non-protesting mothers. It is shocking to most people, they cannot comprehend a child being a bride, how little are these girls? Early teens? the one in today's story was two. She was two years old. Somewhere in the south a woman had  difficulty in child bearing, well over eighty years ago now. Her position as first wife was being threatened. Soon her husband took another wife when he could no longer tolerate the pressure from his family to take another wife. Luckily though, that same month this first wife Mirabel concieved. She had a boy,and in the next few years she had more children in quick succession. Everythig was fine, her in-laws treated her with more respect now and her husband laughed with her as often as he did in the first year of their marriage. Nevertheless Mirabel was still not content,if anything she

DENIAL

Image
Denial is a common response to certain situations and circumstances, especially when they are unbelievable or unworthy of association. There are some experience you can't comprehend so you just pretend it never happened. In the last story  OUR LEADER , among oge's friends there was childi. We will talk about her here. Chidi had never really fit in with the clique, yes she was bold, street wise, her parents were also rich but she never had any of the sophistication of the other girls. She was a proper, beautiful girl but would rather not make too much fuzz about her look,or mannerism. After the rape incident she was the one that initiated the first confrontation and fight with their leader. Chidi was outraged. She had seen when their leader stepped out, so must have known or at least suspected what would happen. She cut ties with the clique and made friends with those who her former clique had always reffered to as lower class.  Most of her new friends didn't ha
